Raw skin-on marcona almond

The almond is the fruit of the almond tree (*Prunus dulcis*), a tree of Asian origin that has been cultivated in Spain for thousands of years.

The Marcona variety, known as “the queen of the Spanish Levante,” is considered the best almond variety worldwide due to its flavor and unique characteristics.

This early-flowering almond requires the presence of other compatible varieties to assist with pollination, making it a particularly special crop.

Once the hard shell is removed, the almond has a rounder shape compared to other varieties and is covered by a cinnamon-colored skin.

It is a large, sweet almond with very little bitterness. When raw, it is relatively crunchy with a mild, slightly sweet flavor and a faint aroma, but when processed, its flavor and aroma become much more intense.

It is the almond chosen by the most renowned horchata makers from Murcia.
